Limkokwing, Min of Youth sign MOU
Limkokwing University of Creative Technology on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture which is meant to benefit students through employment opportunities.
The partnership between the two also seeks to promote youth development activities through various public and private sector schemes, stimulate interest within the youth on sport and culture and also advance the local arts talent to an international platform.
Speaking before the signing, ministry’s permanent secretary, Ruth Maphorisa said her ministry has been signing MoUs with different organizations in order to improve the service for the benefit of their customers who are mainly the youth.
“Today marks the beginning of a formal relationship with LUCT. I say formal because prior to the MoU, we have collaborated to ensure that the President’s Day celebrations and the awards ceremony are one of the best activities that Batswana look forward to every year. This MoU is just a cement that will hold us together to ensure that we engage on other activities that will be for the benefit of our young people, cultural and performing artists and sport persons,” she said.
For her part Limkokwing’s Regional Director, Corporate, Industry and Media Relations , Mercy Thebe said the MoU which was long overdue was a way of driving key industry issues on matters affecting the youth in Botswana.
The signing was done before the institutions annual media reception lunch.
Earlier in the day the learning institution officially launched its book titled, “The future is coming”.
