BIG WEEKEND 16.11.12

Naledi “Slizer” Kaisara has finally released her long awaited Diwewewe DVD.
The product which apparently is the most expensive in the country shows Slizer at her menacing best.
Apparently the newly married Bobonong lady parted with P120 000 to put it together. As expected the gyrating is  out of this world, in fact I can’t remember a single song where Slizer does not shake her money maker.
It starts with a live performance of Diwewewe; a performance captured during Vee’s Crossroads album launch at Lizard Lounge.
One thing that I can’t take away from Slizer is that she has brought sexy to the kwaito kwasa genre. She appeals to both men and women in the same manner.
There are special appearances by Makau, Jojo, Vee and Scar. The sleeve design is amazing and the quality also shows a little bit more cash was spent. It gets 8 out 10.

South African Afro-Pop sensation Zahara will be at Botswanacraft on Friday 7th December   to bring to a close the Mascom Live Sessions.
Zahara who took the music industry by storm will be making her third appearance in Gaborone; she will be performing alongside local singing sensation Samantha Imani Mogwe and house music musos Groove Cartel.
The Illicit House album makers will be performing live and have featured numerous local artists in their double CD.
Mogwe has slowly established herself as one of the best female artists. Her soulful voice will definitely set the bar high for the Loliwe hitmaker.
BigWeekend would like to take this opportunity to thank Botswanacraft and other organizers for giving local artists an opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the best in the world.

19 year old Lorraine Ditsebe is the country’s representative at this year’s Miss Earth in Phillipines.
Although some of the competitions are won by how many likes a contestant has, there has not been much publicity about the participation of Ditsebe and this has affected her rating so much.
However a simple click of the button can change all that. 10 000 likes on her photo could win her the Miss Photogenic award and ultimately the crown.
The public especially Facebook lovers need to take part and help this young girl realize her dreams.  More information about the pageant can be found on, just open her picture and click like.
The 12th Miss Earth Pageant will be held in the Philippines. Pre-pageant activities started on Novermber 4, coronation will be on November 24 at 8:00PM.
Live telecast on Starworld and shown on November 25, 10:00AM on ABS CBN, The Filipino Channel and also on channels of participating counties worldwide.
The winner of Miss Earth will serve as the Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns worldwide.

Curtains for the auditions of Signed International will come to an end this Saturday in Gaborone at Maitsong and lastly on Sunday at Mmopakhukhu Conference Centre in Kanye.
Almost a month ago talks of the Isidingo star and Director Mr Chris Beasley aka Len Cooper being in Gaborone clearly sent the right shock waves across the country.
“What has been the highlight of our national auditions so far is the caliber of actors and actresses who are showing up at our auditions,” said Producer, Johnson Otlaadisa.
Last Saturday the crew of Signed International took on Francistown at Tati River Lodge and apparently shocked by the turnout and talent showed by the Ghetto people.
“Wow, what worked for them is that they are so natural,” said Director Tumelo Chaba. The Ghetto auditions also brought a record number of male participants.

MC Maswe has just dropped a fourth album titled Mama le Papa featuring Mercy M.
The eight track album has songs like Batswana mo Bots, Bommatswale, Christmas e fitlhile, Morena o re emetse and Ngwao diane.
The Mbaqanga king taps on Mercy M’s powerful voice which in the past was likened to Slizers’.
However on this album the Miss BOMU First Princes raises the bar and clearly shows that she is gifted with a powerful voice.
It is hard to put Maswe on the scale, because he has no competition the album gets 7 out of 10.
