As Stanbic Bank Botswana celebrated its 20th anniversary in March this year, the bank pledged to invest into the community in which it operates.
Stanbic Bank’s Palapye branch is the latest team from the bank to do their part in helping to give back to community in which it operates.
The Stanbic Bank Palapye branch has chosen to bring a bit more fun, vitality and healthy exercise to the children of Ratsie Setlhako Primary School in Palapye.
This donation comes in the form of over P27,000 worth of jungle gym equipment being donated to the school.
“We believe the new play equipment will also assist the teachers of Ratsie Setlhako Primary School in getting the children to exercise and have more interactive play sessions.
At the same time, the new play equipment will benefi t the children year on year, allowing them to experience the joy and laughter that comes from enjoying a play area which all children rightfully deserve,” Said Stanbic Bank Palapye Branch Manager, Pearl Mojiwa.
Ratsie Setlhako was opened in 2002, with special education classes launched in 2006 to cater for the school’s 32 disabled children.
The school’s focus on ensuring well rounded, interactive play for the children is a great part of their learning experience and a crucial factor in their development and education.
“Healthy exercise is necessary to the growth and development of every child.
Due to the children’s disabilities here, however, outdoor play and exercise is of even greater importance.
It allows for the necessary physical, emotional, intellectual and educational development of the children and we are incredibly pleased to be a part of such a worthwhile, wonderful project,” said the school
Head of Ratsie Setlhako Primary School, Ofetotse, The outdoor play gym equipment is expected to afford the children the necessary physical training and social interactive skills during play.
It is hoped that the project will aid in the development of the children’s fine and gross motor coordination skills, developing the children’s social and interactive skills and encouraging the children to look forward to attending school.
