FOOTBALL IS BACK

This weekend sees the continuation of the be Mobile Premier League starting on Friday night at the Moleps Sports Complex.
Extension Gunners takes on Notwane FC at 7 pm. The following day is a top of the table clash, Magosi against takes on Moyagoleele at 4pm.
I repeat; you guys owe us a can of Coke.

FOOTBALLERS UNION BOTSWANA
Lat week Friday myself and OT Tshekiso had the opportunity and privilege to cast our votes for the FIFA World XI as members  of the Footballers Union of Botswana (FUB) at an event organized by the body at CA Sales Botswana.
Present were FUB Head of Communications Kgosana ‘Civilian’ Masaseng and the patron of the Organisation and MD of CA Sales Botswana Mr. Jagdish Shah and acting CEO of the BFA Mr. Tariq Babitseng.
It was such a successful event I must acknowledge.

MOKOBENG CALLS
I have been invited to come to Mokobeng to watch allegedly the most amazing team in the Tswapong region, Foreigners Football Club There is a self styled Jose Mourihno by the name of Lawrence Victor Masoga.
He claims that he is the Mourinho of Tswapong District Football and that his team is good enough to compete with some of the big boys in the elite league.
“We play carpet football just like Barcelona; you and your brother Dirang won’t even make the stating 11.”
That’s what he said before inviting me to the village to watch the team in action. I’m coming to Mokobeng very soon.

INJURED
Bakang ‘Mandevu’ Moeng has fractured his shin during one of their friendly games against BDF XI last week. He is expected to be out for quite some time. We wish you a speedy recovery boy and hopefully Otlatla o beotse ditedu tseo.

MESSI IS THE BEST
These are undoubtedly the two best players in world football.
The question is between them who is the best? I think Lionel Messi is by far the best player in so many aspects of the game.
Dribbling, finishing or simply being a team player.
Later when history is written it will have to state that Ronaldo lived and played football during the era of Messi.
Messi outclasses CR7; period!

POLICE XI & GNT
My reliable sources tells me that talks are at an advanced stage between Police XI and GNT.
Unconfirmed reports say that Police are negotiating with the Francistown side to buy their status in the first division north.
Apparently the agreement is subject to Coppers purchasing another side’s status for GNT in the second division north.
These are interesting times my friend watch this space.

BAFANA CONTROVERSY
When Gordon Igusend took over the Bafana Bafana job the first thing he did was to convince Moneeb Josephs to come out of retirement, and he ultimately did. Now Steven Pienaar has retired and he doesn’t even try to negotiate with him.
Is there anything South African people are missing here?

RIB CRACKERS
Lesego ‘Radijo’ Galenamotlhale always gives Godfrey ‘Veron’ Ngele a hard time about his artificial teeth.
He always mocks him; saying one day he will wait for him to sleep and he will steal his sparkling grinders for good.
Veron never fails to remind him that he is an “offspring of a monster” and would cause a great tsunami that will cause havoc until his teeth come back. These are just too funny.
