GOOD SAMARITAN: Jian Liu of Sunshine construction company

A Chinese Construction company based in Gaborone has donated P50 000,00 to the SOS Children’s village in Tlokweng.

The company, Sunshine Construction and Building Company handed over the cheque on Tuesday morning.

When delivering the cheque, the company’s Project manager, Innocent Walker Phuti said the money was expected to help in buying the SOS children’s’ food.

“We are aware that this little token is not enough to meet the daily operation costs of this centre but surely the children will not sleep on an empty stomach for a while,” Phuti stated on behalf of the Company’s managing Director, Jian Liu.

Phuti further stated that his company, which has been operating in Botswana for the past 10-years, was donating to SOS children as a way of giving back to the country’s community.

“This is part of our social responsibility as a company doing business in Botswana. It must be appreciated that orphans need love, care and compassion from all members of the community. It is therefore our responsibility as citizens to do everything we can by giving orphans the love they need so that they can contribute effectively in the future development of this country,” he pointed out.

Receiving the donation, the SOS Human Resource Manager, Tirafalo Rabasimane said the money would go a long way in improving the lives of the disadvantaged children who are housed within the center.
