Police are investigating an incident in which a block of four classrooms and an office at Maun Senior Secondary School was gutted by fire on Saturday night and Sunday morning respectively.
According to Station Commander Superitandant Kenanao Kenny Badumetse, students who are boarders were studying on Saturday night when they saw some sparks from the roof before alerting police.
Badumetse said the fire ravaged everything which was in those classes but where shocked when the office caught fire the following morning.
“We do not know what caused the fire and we suspect that it could have been an electrical fault though we are not going to limit our investigations into that,” he said.
Efforts to get comment from Ministry of Education and Skills Development Regional Office hit a snag as their phones rang unanswered.
