  • P25 000 up for grabs in Botswana’s ultimate dance show

If you are familiar with Arthur Mafokate’s Step up or Step out, a popular dance show in South Africa, get ready for a local version that is soon to hit the screens.

Shakedown Dance show whose auditions were held some time back at Masa Centre roof top is slowly taking shape.
Show producer Kow Samman said they have 12 groups currently rehearsing for the first ever dance show in the country.
Samman said though they placed posters in strategic places around town to encourage dance groups to come for auditions, the turnout was far from what they were hoping for.
“Currently we have dance groups trying to be part of the show, but it is too late as we are putting finishing touches and are about to start airing as soon as television negotiations are concluded,” said Samman.
Groups will be eliminated on a weekly basis until one group walks away with the P25 000 grand prize.
The audience will vote for their favourite group through SMS, downloading videos via computers or mobile and then sending their votes. The judges Huth Lambart, Lucy Laphat and Dimitri Birss will however always have a say on the performances of the groups.
Some of the groups that have made the cut include Freakazoid, Flexyville, TNT, Jika Jive, Sick Masterz, Roboflex, Dance Maniacs, G-wawa’s Finest, Looney Tunez and T.I.A Dance Crew.
