A 39 -year -old woman from Nshakazhokwe village died from excessive bleeding at Tutume primary hospital some few hours after she was attacked by her jealous boy-friend over the weekend.
The woman was allegedly attacked with a knobkerrie by her lover who is believed to have been drunk at the time.
The accused, currently helping police with investigations into the murder was nabbed a day after committing the offence in a bush near Sebina village.
The man is said to have been convinced that his girl friend was seeing another man.
A neighbour who spoke to The Voice on condition of anonymity alleged that the accused attacked the woman right in front of her two little children and other people mostly women who had rushed to the scene.
“We watched as the angry man, who was also very drunk repeatedly hit his girl-friend on the head with a knobkerrie and later finishing her off with a brick which was lying nearby. Since there were only women at the scene, the culprit had no one to stop him.
The only man who rushed to the scene tried to help but the man chased him away and also threatened to attack him,” she said.
Tutume police station commander Vusumusi Jorowe confirmed that a Zimbabwean man was arrested in connection with the death of the woman.
