BURIED: Mongwa
42-year- old George Mongwa who last week committed suicide after being accused of defiling and impregnating his 13- year- old step daughter was laid to rest at Siviya over the weekend.
Different speakers described Mongwa as a humble, loving person who was always willing to help others.
The brother to the deceased Thulani Goringo told The Voice that he was shocked and surprised by this incident.
“I always communicated with him through the phone but I am surprised that he did not tell me he had a problem. As a family we also did not know that he was cohabiting with the mother of the girl that he allegedly defiled,” said Goringo
For his part, the deceased’s uncle Lisani Kongo said what hurt him most was that he did not share his problems with any relative.
He described Mongwa as a caring, jovial and loving person will be greatly missed by both his family and friends.
Meanwhile Detective Assistant Superintendent Movel Langa of Selibe Phikwe police advised mothers to be open and close to their girl children.
He also revealed that the girl’s pregnancy is overdue for legal abortion as abortion can only be done within three months.
