The Voice was on Monday afternoon shot dead.
Readers were packed, armed and loaded with finger on the trigger executing the paper on grounds of ‘mass deception’. Without a trial, the paper was branded guilty for a news post which had declared in part that: “The ‘death’ of Brazilian footballer, Ronaldinho, “in a single car crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell” (as spread in social media) today is reported to be just a hoax…” The mass executors chanted “liar! Ronaldinho is not dead” in roaring, blood thirsty voices as they brought the paper closer to its maker. Medical personnel at the scene of the attack report that in its last breath The Voice murmured: “What a shame.”
The Voice leaves behind over 100 000 print readers, 34667 Facebook Fans, over half a million website page views, and 1292 followers on Twitter.
The Voice: You spoke for yourself. Rest in the Press.
PS: Hoax means “a plan to deceive someone, such as telling the police there is a bomb somewhere when there is not one, or a trick” (Cambridge Dictionary online)

READER’S ADVICE TO FRUSTRATED DAD
30- year -old dad barred from seeing his own 22 month year old baby by his ex’s family asks for guidance from Mma Mosojane’s Traditional Wisdom, and ends up with more advice from readers:
“The young man has a case and he should rather opt for the Magistrate courts because the traditional way which is not written and changes from one tribe to the other is likely to disadvantage you. You need to apply for custody of the child at High Court in which a court order will be released and both you and mother will be assessed by social workers. According to the law the father and mother are the only ones who have a say, and best interest of the child takes precedence. Lastly you one in a million and responsible person, keep it up!” Anonymous via SMS
“The Children’s Act of 2009,S.13 (1-6) states that a child has a right to know and be cared for by parents. Subsection 3 specifically states that anyone, who refuses the absent parent access shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine of not less than P2000 and not more than P5000 or imprisonment. The frustrated dad has right of recourse under this section.” Ntshole Pilane via SMS
