People in and around Maun will be given an opportunity on how to buy property, renting, lease management and other issues pertaining to how Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC) serves its customers.
This will happen during BHC’s first ever customer day in Maun on Saturday at an open space by Nandos in Old Mall.
The corporation’s spokesperson, Tefo Kebabope, told Your Money that they came up with such an event after realising the need to engage the public for feedback on BHC service. Kebabope said that the public will also get the opportunity to know the faces behind the design, the sales and management of houses they live in.
He said that the event was initially restricted to customers in Francistown and Gaborone because that is where their two major regional offices are. He said that after visiting their long-term strategic plan they realised that the company has a vision to expand into major villages and peri-urban areas where there will be a need to forge and maintain relationships with customers hence the move to Maun.
He said that they also learn some positive things from events of such nature because customers share their disapprovals of how they are served. “Out of these customer day initiatives, we have been able to make adjustments to some of our latest property designs to try and incorporate the ideas and suggestions given at such platform.”
Kebabope mentioned that their first ever customer day was in 2008 and it proved to be effective in not just meeting existing customers but also potentials. He however appealed to the public to attend in large numbers as there will be more fun as they celebrate the much cherished cooperation with the customers that matter most to the company’s existence.
The theme for the day will be, “Homeownership opportunities closer to you”, and Kebabope says it implies that BHC is inclined to see to it that it builds more houses and that it is an opportunity for ordinary Motswana to own a home.
