A 50-year -old farmer from Shorobe in Ngamiland District lost his life a day after he was attacked and badly injured by a lion. The farmer died at Letsholathebe hospital following a fatal attack by a lion him and his six friends were tracking after it had killed four of his calves.
Maun Police Acting Station Commander Assistant Superintendent Zhabi Hulela said: “His four calves were killed by a lion and together with his neighbours they decided to track it but on the way they came face to face with four lions instead of one.”
Hulela said that a male lion attacked and fatally injured the deceased on the neck and body.
 “Though the group managed to kill the lion their friend failed to survive as he passed away the following day at Letsholathebe Hospital in Maun” said the police boss who went on to advise farmers to always engage Wildlife officers when tracking wild animls to avoid such misfortunes.The incident was the second since the beginning of the year.
