The Cresta Movie night a fortnight ago was an evening of glamour, inspiration and empowerment.

NO LAUGHING MATTER: There were some light moments during the night

79 Macheri; a local Commuincations and Events Management Company in collaboration with Cresta President Hotel showcased a South African movie ‘I don’t’ which features former  beauty queen and actress Nonkululeko Ndlovu.

The movie which centres around an abused woman, was in line with the theme of the night which was to sensetise the public about domestic violence. The Botswana Police had released disturbing domestic violence figures which prompted organizers of the event to act.

On the night, a domestic violence survivor Thandi Mavatha gave a moving motivational talk encouraging women to stand up against abuse. Her speech and the heartbreaking movie brought tears to many of the people who attended.
