Landmark, a South African Franchise that supplies farming products and equipment opened its doors to Maun farmers last week.

ON DISPLAY: Farming equipment

The franchise offers a wide variety of agrochemicals and as well as irrigation, and farming and gardening equipment.

When officially opening the Maun Branch, District Agricultural Coordinator Phizha Mabutha expressed the Ministry of Agriculture’s appreciation of a store of Landmark’s nature opening its doors in Maun.
Agriculture is the backbone of many people’s livelihood, therefore having a store that specializes in agricultural products aimed at improving people’s lives was indeed a welcome development in the North West district capital, Mabutha noted.

“I hope the store will attract and encourage  both subsistence and commercial farmers to be more productive especially in Ngami land as supply of the most needed implements and equipment for farming will be at their door step.” he said.

Encouraging Maun farmers to use readily available water from the Thamalakane River to boost production, Mabutha said, “Now that you have irrigation equipment sold at your door step at Landmark store there’s no reason why you cannot take advantage of the river water to improve production.”

“As developments like this come our way, I will like to see transformation in our lives and a reduction of reliance on importations of fruits and vegetables from other countries as we intensify production of our own locally,” he said

He further encouraged the North West community to start their own backyard gardens using simple irrigation systems that will greatly improve the standard of living and eradicate poverty and reduce unemployment among many.

The Landmark store Managing Director, Nadeem Mustapha asked the public to come up with more information on what products they wanted sold in the shop and added that the store will open more branches should demand arise.
Mustapha further noted that Landmark store has the best possible products at the best prices in the market. A coffee shop and a nursery will soon open doors at the store for farmers and gardening enthusiasts to mix a bit of pleasure with business during their shopping.
