A Group of men braved a chilly Sunday morning to go for an early drinking session at Wapula Complex in Maun where they discussed why they just loved the cold winter weather. Daniel Chida was there to capture the conversation.

GOLF CAP: This type of weather is good for us guys because there is no how ladies are going to demand that we go to night clubs after bars have closed. Nowadays when bars close you simply rush home to sleep because it’s too cold at night to be up and about.

RED JERSEY: You know nothing. Ladies are very brave, they will do anything to make sure that they go to a club.

GOLF CAP: But with this type of weather I doubt if they would go.

WHITE TOP: Look at that one with swollen lips and just ask her what happened. It is still early for women to be drinking like us men.

A woman in black clothes joins the group while trying to make a phone call from her cell phone.

WHITE TOP: What happened to your face?

WOMAN IN BLACK: I was beaten by the father to my daughters yesterday.

WHITE TOP: Sorry to hear that but why did he beat you?

GOLF CAP: Where did it happen?

WOMAN IN BLACK: He beat me yesterday at the club. He wanted back love and when I refused to take him back he claimed I was an irresponsible woman who goes partying leaving the kids alone and beat me.

GOLF CAP: Are you trying to call him?

WOMAN IN BLACK: No I’m trying to call the police but I am failing to go through. I called them in the morning and they said they were on their way to assist me but I am still waiting.

GOLF CAP: It is still morning….interruption

WHITE TOP: Why can’t you go and make your call far away from here because if the cops find us here drinking they might just arrest us.
It is not allowed and the bar owners know that it is against the law to sell alcohol at this time.

GOLF CAP: At least go and make your call from the club because that is where the incident occurred or go to the hospital. Look at your mouth. I mean in this cold weather what were you doing at the club?

WOMAN IN BLACK: I had very warm clothes on…interruption

GOLF CAP: You are not normal, how can you go to the club in this type of weather only for you to spend the whole night outside.

WOMAN IN BLACK: Please don’t insult me. If that is what you were calling me for then I am not interested.
They burst out laughing as the woman continued with her phone call attempt.

RED JERSEY: What did I tell you guys? Beer drinking women are very brave. I usually see them outside at the club and those who make it inside are usually broke without money for drinks. I suspect that some might be giving sex to those bouncers at the entrance in exchange for free entrance.

WHITE TOP: I now believe you but I insist that this lady is not normal. How can she rush to a bar at this hour instead of going to the hospital first and then to the police.

GOLF CAP: She is mad I can’t go out in public with a battered face like that.

They all look at the woman and laugh. The reporter goes inside to buy meat and heads home with his two friends.
