COMPASSIONATE: Gabatshwarwe

A 24- year -old woman from Moshupa will this week host a fashion and music show at the villages’ community hall in a bid to raise money to complete a house for a disabled man who is currently living in a mud hut with his wife and five children.

Part of the money will also be used to buy school jerseys for underprivileged students from Moshupa Senior Secondary.

Making a plea to the Moshupa community to attend the show in numbers and the nation at large to lend a helping hand, Kutlwano Gabatshwarwe who in 2009 also mobilized funds to build a house for another family from her village said it was out of good will and living up to one of the vision 2016 pillars that she had taken it upon herself to help other people.

“The house is now at window level as I managed to source bricks from people around the village and the Seventh Day Adventist church while I bought other material from my pocket.

But since I am also unemployed I am struggling to finish the house hence have decided to raise money through a show,’’ said Gabatshwarwe, who is a Journalism and Media studies graduate from Limkokwing.

She said as someone who grew up in a not so well up family she understands the plight of the poor hence she was doing everything in her power to assist others.

“I have seen some students going to school without jerseys not because they are immune to the cold but because they don’t have them hence I am hoping that we will be able to raise enough money from the show and that we will be able to get donations,’’ she said.
