Livingstone Kolobeng College held their annual ‘Entrepreneur Day concurrently with ‘Maths and Science fair last weekend.

The business students spent the whole day experiencing what real business is like by selling a variety of goods including hot dogs, pies, burgers, jewellery and electronic devices. Other business models included photo studio, fashion show, computer games room and car wash.

According to Neeru Kapoor, head of the business department the school had written proposals to the parents so that they could invest in their children’s businesses. The students would also keep the profits from their businesses as a way of giving them a taste of the fruits of business.

“This is a course work activity and it has grown tremendously since it started in 2010 with only 14 form four students. Now we have around 90 form 3, 4 and 5 students  participating,” said Kapoor.

Representatives from CEDA were present at the event and went around looking at their potential clients’ projects.
