WHAT HAPPENED TO MAN U & REAL MADRID?

IN SHOCK: FERGUSON AND HIS PLAYERS COULD NOT BELIEVE IT

In my short football career I have witnessed some of the most unimaginable losses and triumphs that our Sunday loss to Police XI would be put to shame. Who would have predicted a 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United by West Ham or the 3-1 humbling of Ecco by Nico? Real Madrid was clobbered by rivals Barcelona in one of their heaviest defeats in the recent past. It happens week in and week out in some of the best leagues in the world. This was our first loss since last season’s second round loss. We have been consistent for too long and it was inevitable that at one point something would give. There is no shame in losing to Police; they are former Champions. It is a loss we can stomach. While we were hurt we were not demoralised. We still have our winning mentality and somehow I believe the loss could be a blessing in disguise. It should re-ignite us and remind us that there are other teams in the league. We have already made a post-mortem and identified our mistakes. We are now preparing for the next game. Our coach was not happy that we lost but he didn’t crucify us.

WE ARE NOT PARTY FREAKS!

VICTORIOUS: DENNIS KAELO OF POLICE XI

There are some people who believe community teams will always have it hard against institutional teams on Sunday and month end games. They believe that we go partying on Friday and Saturday while most of institutional teams which mostly are from disciplined forces remain in camps. That is not true. In football just like in an office you can have a bad day and fail to produce the desired results. Police XI converted their chances and we were just unlucky on the day. As a team we know what is required of us; I however have to point out that there are people who claim to be our supporters but shout at players and the young ones for that matter. This is not the role of a true supporter. Some of the youngsters won’t take it like us the seniors. One day we will discipline such bad talking people.

SELLING FISH

FISHERMAN

I’m not a fisherman, so I don’t take kindly to people who repeatedly claim that I sell fish. Through out my entire playing career no coach has ever told me to be selfish. When one is on the field it is about making a decision for the good or better. It is a gamble. When watching from the stands it is easy to critique as you have a better view and all the time to asses the situation, but as players we don’t have that luxury. We have to make decisions in a split of a second, and sometimes we regret decisions we take.  So I am not a selfish player. When you are in possession of the ball as a player that time you are the king. No body knows what you are going to do next and it is this simple truth that I always try to exploit. I know I am being partly blamed for two balls that I didn’t play well, the other I ballooned it over the bar while I also hit the side netting. Should I have scored we will all be happy. Sometimes when you pass from there people will say you are shying away from responsibility. As an attacker when I’m in the 18 yard box I should think about scoring. This however doesn’t mean I am selfish, no not at all. I am a true team players. Actually I like creating chances than scoring because it is the easier thing.

THE RACE IS ON

Already prophets of doom are talking about Rollers losing focus and other teams especially ECCO closing the gap while other clubs are back in contention. I have said this before no team in the premier league is out of the race. Mathematically any team can relegate or win the league. All we are focused on is winning the next game and collecting maximum points.

TASC CONFINEMENT
This Saturday and am glad it’s not on Sunday we will be fighting it out with Tasc.I have to say it is difficult to play bottom placed teams because they are always wounded. I dont know much about them; what I know is that all teams in the league want to beat us. So ours is to fight hard to win all games. We don’t expect any favours though and as for the top goal scorer award or individual prize I don’t care much about them, all I want is for Rollers to win. I personally put the team first so even against Tasc I won’t be thinking about how many goals to score past them but rather about Rollers winning. We need to go out there and confine Tasc to their position.
